Vintage

I recently had a revelation. I was shopping through the thrift store, walking past the jewelry counter and spotted a fabulous lot of vintage earrings. Only problem they were clip ons, NNOOOOO!!!!  I have always passed on clip ons.  They have this stigma of old and I didn't want to be associated with being older. As I stared at these beauties under the glass I couldn't help but wonder.. could I?

I decided to take the plunge, this lot was gorgeous and there was no way I was going to pass them pretties up. In the end I knew I could come up with creative ways to make my new darlings work for me.

Once I got home I made a bee line to my jewelry box and promptly picked out a few of my favorite brooches to go with the earrings and I started styling.  This was my realization... clip on earrings and brooches can be used in so many different ways! I was astonished with my pairing and so glad that I hadn't passed on what could have been.  Above are a few of my favorites results

Easily clipped onto your shoes the brooches and earrings add a little extra glam to an otherwise dull pair of flats. I mean who doesn't want a little extra sparkle.  They can be pinned into your hair to accentuate your do. Used as cufflinks in the button holes of your blazer.  I specially love this one - its just a little feminine touch to contradict the masculine structure of the blazer. You can wear them as a necklace or add them to an existing necklace that might need a little something more. Finally you can wear them as is. I wore them above to accent the cable knit texture and the over exaggerated neckline of my sweater.

The possibilities are endless. So the next time you're at an estate sale, flea market, thrift store or just the jewelry department in the mall don't over look the clip on earrings and brooches.  They can be turned into something fabulously unique.

Below are a few brooches and earrings sets that I'm in love with. If you're in the designer market make sure to check out the brooches here.  I specially love this one and this one. You can find great Clip on earrings here. I'm dying for a pair of Chanel clip on earrings like these. If you want to try a few out but don't want to spend a lot of money you can find tons of options on Ebay. Just be ready to spend a fair amount of time at your computer. You better bring snacks xoxo.

  13. Fashion is an everyday affair with Indian women, who sport bangles, toe rings, bracelets, armlets, chains, necklaces and even anklets. Some jewelry like bangles and toe rings also confirm their marital status to onlookers. So fashion jewelry in India has cultural and ornamental significance.sterling silver jewelry
