Dressed Up

Dress (similar), Coat, Shoes: Zara (similar here, on sale with code BIGEVENT16)

Pardon my absence. I've had the worst cold this week. The weather is finally getting warm (jumping for joy and then sitting down out of breathe) but that also means my office is off its meds and back to its bipolar temperature self.  I was able to get this outfit photographed earlier this week and am finally getting around to sharing it.

I've been really drawn to all things stripe lately (I've purchased this dress, this top and am completely head over heels for this and this). So when I saw this Shabby Apple dress I knew it would be a great addition to my wardrobe. Bonus, its made of cotton so its very easy to wear and maintain. Sometimes a girl just needs easy. I love the wide stripe and nautical based colors, blue and white is classic. I paired it with my Truth of Touch wool coat. The solid color of the coat helped to ground the outfit, plus the leather sleeves add a great textural element. The color in the outfit continues with a fun red shoe. I love these red knot heels I picked up at Zara last year. They are sold out but I did find an identical pair in cobalt blue here. Lastly we added a little bit of sparkle to the outfit. This statement necklace from J.crew has been in my jewelry collection for years. Its an oldy but a goody. Now that Summer is on its way I'll be switching back to more delicate pieces so I felt it was only fitting to take this guy out for one last spin. If you are looking for amazing pieces to invest in you can't go wrong with J.Crew. They are always offering interesting and fun pieces right along side the classic. I love this set of earrings, the colors are very me, and I adore this classic multi strand pearl necklace. Both are on my current wish list.
Until next time,
xoxo
