The weather over the weekend was beautiful so we decided to make a day of it and play tourist in Salt Lake.  Whenever we make the short drive downtown we always tell each other how much we love Broadway Street. It has the best culture, little local shops, amazing eateries and fantastic art. So we took the afternoon and went exploring.

I went with my go to outfit uniform, jeans and a tee, perfect for walking around.  The weather was warm but still inconsistent. This Joie silk sleeveless top was perfect for the days adventure.  Its crisp clean design and embroidered elements are beautiful. It's a great layer piece and I utilized that to my advantage with the Chelsea 28 blazer. I picked up the blazer along with this white camisole and this trench (last seen here) a few weeks ago at Nordstrom.  I've been wearing it as much as I can get away with. It has a beautiful tailored fit.  The cut of the blazer is very slimming and the color so neutral, it goes with everything. I love it and I love that it dresses up even my slouchy destroyed pair of Current/Elliott jeans.

The first stop on our walk was the cutest old school barber shop. The shop was adorable, the owner super friendly and they have the cutest mascot Marlo that wanders around and brings you his toys. They specialize in mens haircuts and close shaves. We're talking warm towels,  shaving cream applied with brand brushes and straight razors.  After playing with Marlo for a bit we stopped for sandwiches at a little family owned corner shop, Buds Sandwich. With a menu of premium sandwiches and salads made of 100% plant based ingredients and a cute outside picnic area it was just what we needed after walking around for a few hours.  We split the deli classic and hid in the shade of a tree enjoying the breeze.  Finally we ended our adventure walking the neighborhood looking through shop windows at local art.
It was just the break from our day to day that we needed.

January

  1. That barber shop is totally adorable! I love finding old barber shops near downtowns in cities that we visit here in the US.
