Floral & Leather

Top: sold out but same print in white here, Jacket (similar), Jeans
Shoes: Old (LOVE these),  Sunnies:Flea Market in Amsterdam (similar)

How was everyone's long weekend? Ours was filled with some much needed fun. We did a little shopping, ate at way too many restaurants, went tubing in the snow and went to a hockey game. This is the outfit I wore out Monday to the hockey game. The fog finally cleared up after some weekend rain and the temperature warmed as well so I decided it was a great opportunity to take my leather jacket out for a test drive.  I have been searching for a great investment worthy leather jacket for the past year. I tried on everything I could find and nothing worked for me. Either the color was right but the cut was all wrong or vice versa. I finally stumbled across this Michael Kors one at Nordstrom Rack of all places. It was everything I had been looking for - great color, clean lines, amazing fit and not overly embellished (I was not going for the edgy biker look). Naturally I fell in love.
To make the leather really stand out I paired it with my silk floral Equipment blouse.  I love how the silk adds a textural contrast to the outfit in conjunction with the jacket. Plus the print is stunning. The floral pattern is very different than what I'm normally drawn to but something about it just works. The navy base with green throughout and little hints of red is so pretty.
Worn with the most comfortable pair of denim I own. I purchased this pair of Current/Elliott destroyed boyfriend jeans a few months back (on Poshmark) and have been wearing them every chance I get. I think I've even taken a nap in them at one time or another. I love the relaxed fit and stretch cotton fabric. The distressing is done so perfectly and strategically placed so I don't feel like I'm super exposed. These can be a pretty penny but so worth it if purchased on sale or second hand. I plan on taking them on all my summer trips. I can't wait to share all the different styling options.
In the end, the result was fabulous and equally chic as comfortable.
xoxo

On a down note, Paul and I got some alarming news Monday afternoon. Without going into details the Vegas family experienced a terrific and traumatic event. So please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I know they could use as many good vibes their way as possible.
