I have been majorly drawn to all things black lately. I don't know what it is but every store I walk into lately all I put into my cart is black. I wonder if its my subconscious telling me I already have enough white, grey and brown pieces. It started with these fabulous Vince wool trousers. I was taking stock in my closet and realized I didn't have a pair of year round black trouser. How did I let that happen? I promptly went to the store and feel in love with this light weight wool pair with a tuxedo stripe down the side. The price gave me heart palpitations but after a ten minute conversation with Paul in the dressing room I decided the year round use and price per wear factor was justification enough. I continued my all black outfit with a great boyfriend sweater I picked up at Banana Republic a few weeks back that has been on office repeat ever since. Its the perfect transitional sweater. Long enough that I can wrap myself up in it to keep warm but light enough for my offices bi-polar temperatures. When I get to warm and I'm out and about I just wrap it up in my bag or tie it around my waist and it doesn't add extra bulk. I wore it here with a great new blouse I picked up recently at Nordstorm Rack. I decided it was time to trade in some of my black 20's tees for a sophisticated and grown up blouse. This Philosophy blouse has the benefit of looking like a basic black cotton tee but has a fun zipper detail in the back and grown up three quarter sleeve. The theme continued with my favorite black coat and favorite pair of winter heels. I love the added structure from the coat and texture from these Valentino heels. Add a few gold accessories, a pair of simple earrings, and a swipe of one of my new favorite lip colors and I was out the door in no time flat.
Easy outfit planning. Maybe thats what my subconscious was telling me all along.
