My Top Three Spring 2015 Trends

As I'm writing this post there is a blizzard going on outside my window. The snow is FALLING but all I can think of is warmer weather, sunny days and lazy weekends. Spring will soon be here despite the fit mother nature is currently throwing outside.  Its a time of growth and rebirth, not just for flowers but also for my closet. The heavy winter knits get stored and color once again gets infused into my wardrobe.

Spring this year has a few unexpected trends for us. From wide leg trousers to suede, the main inspiration this year is 70's retro. While you won't be seeing me sport any 100% polyester orange bell bottoms, I will be dipping my toe in the 70's pool. Below are a few of the trends I'll be watching.

1. Gingham

This is the one trend I am most excited for. It's just so pretty and versatile. This year it stands along
in larger prints - dresses, shorts, tops.  What I love most about this trend is its ability to transition
into fall.  I can already see the layers in my fall wardrobe.

If you are on the fence about gingham try it first in smaller doses, like this pair of shoes or this swim suit.  If you are on board like me but don't want an entire outfit, try a button down in your favorite color, mines here. If you can't get enough go for a total look, like this one or this one.

2. Off the Shoulder

I have been hitting the gym hard in anticipation of this trend.  Plus a little exercise never hurt right. My arms and shoulders are getting tone just so I can strut around in this lady like trend. I mean how amazing is that pink Jenny Packham dress in the middle. While I probably can't get away with wearing this trend to work I can certainly wear it to events and date night.  How great would this look be with a high waisted pencil skirt or midi skirt. I just died.

Here are a few of the pieces I have my eye on. ChicwishNordstrom and Clover Canyon

3. Yellow

While the color of the year might be a shade of red, yellow has won second place in my heart. It's so bright and happy, the perfect color to usher in spring. In everything from nail polish all the way up to coats, there is a something yellow for everyone.  I'm loving this color in accessories specially shoes, like these. Great thing about yellow shoes they are also big for fall. Hello year round heels! If this primary color is one of your favs try sporting it in a top, like this H&M one or a body hugging dress like this one.
