Happy Birthday to me! I am so excited to be turning the big 3-0! Life at 30 really is fabulous. I have an amazing family, a very sexy husband, the best friends a girl could ask for and designer shoes. Score!!! The hubs planned a super secret birthday dinner for me -which I found out about (my bad), so I decided to go out and spend a little of my hard earned cash on a new dress. I fell in love with this H&M one instantly. Its very light weight and the pattern is so cute. I see this piece traveling with me during spring and fall, being tucked into pants or throwing a belted blazer over top to make it look like a skirt.
I purchased the one I'm wearing a size larger than I would normally wear so that the sleeves and hem would hit a little longer. Only downside, I was swimming in it. It was so big and boxy in the middle. So I spent a few dollars at Joann's Fabric and picked up a zipper & matching thread. The back of the dress was designed as a two button closure. I removed the buttons and added a zipper so my undergarments wouldn't be showing (scandalous to say the least). I also took the sides of the dress in at the waist for a more flattering figure. I'm so happy with how it turned out.
